Camp Wild Heart Seaquest State Park

  • Seaquest State Park 3030 Spirit Lake Highway Castle Rock, WA, 98611 United States (map)

Summer camps are a great way for children to have fun, make new friends, and learn new skills. For LGBTQ+ families (particularly for parents of transgender kids), finding a camp that is safe, supportive, and welcoming can be a challenge. That's why the first ever Camp Wild Heart family camp at Seaquest State Park is such an exciting opportunity. From August 6-9, 2023, LGBTQ+ families (meaning any family member is part of the queer community) will come together for a weekend of fun, community, and connection.

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Seaquest State Park is a perfect location for a family camp. Surrounded by nature, families will have the opportunity to explore the great outdoors, go on hikes, and enjoy campfires under the stars. With activities for all ages, Camp Wild Heart is designed to be a fun and engaging experience for the whole family.

But Camp Wild Heart is much more than just a traditional summer camp. It is specifically designed for LGBTQ+ families, with a focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment where families can connect and learn from each other. The weekend will feature workshops and activities led by experienced facilitators, covering topics such as gender identity, family dynamics, courage and resilience building, and advocacy.

One of the biggest benefits of Camp Wild Heart is the opportunity for families to connect with others who are going through the same journey. For many families, especially those with transgender children, isolation and lack of community can be a major challenge. At Camp Wild Heart, families will have the chance to build relationships with other families who understand their experiences and can offer support and encouragement.

Space at Camp Wild Heart is limited, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration closes on July 21, 2023, or when camp is full. With limited space available, families are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. The cost has been set to maximize the space. The cost is $150 per camper, plus $50 per tent, with an option of $50 per person if you want us to provide your meals.

Overall, the first-ever Camp Wild Heart family camp at Seaquest State Park is an exciting opportunity for families of transgender children to come together for a weekend of fun, community, and connection. With a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment, families can learn from each other, build relationships, and enjoy the great outdoors. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity - register for Camp Wild Heart today!
