Karen Kopulos, LMHC

Karen’s (they/them/theirs) passion is working with the LGBTQ community to enable everyone to see the beauty in being authentically themselves. Karen is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. Recognizing the inherent challenges in walking through the world with an LGBTQ identity and the need for clients to be able to work with therapists who reflect their identity, Karen obtained their Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Lewis and Clark College, specializing in LGBTQ therapy. They have worked in high school and community mental health settings in the Portland and Vancouver area. They have also provided trainings and consultation for schools, nonprofit organizations, and businesses on how to create a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ community. Karen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor using person-centered approaches to provide a safe space for therapy in the office (or on a walk outside). Currently, they work with adults identifying as LGBTQ, gender expansive, and/or non-binary. Karen’s approach is compassionate and non-judgmental. They believe in the importance of playing like our inner-kids want us to - so when they are not working, Karen can be found attempting new dance moves, hiking trails with their dog, playing ping-pong, biking, and watching videos of orcas in their natural habitat - wild and free.
