Transgender Day
of Visibility

Visibility is complicated. It can feel powerful, vulnerable, joyful, and tender all at once.

This evening is about being visible in a way that feels safe and self-directed. It’s about honoring trans creativity, resilience, softness, and brilliance not as spectacle, but as community.

Come as you are.

Who This Event Is For

Trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive adults (18+) who want to:

  • Share creative work in a supportive space

  • Celebrate Trans Day of Visibility in community

  • Witness and uplift other trans voices

Allies are welcome to attend as supportive audience members.
To keep this space centered on trans experience, only trans folks will be invited to share work during the open mic.

Open Mic Details

We’ll have a simple sign-up sheet available at the beginning of the evening.

You’re invited to share in 3-5 minutes:

  • Spoken word or poetry

  • Short readings

  • Music (acoustic/simple setup)

  • Visual art (with a brief artist share)

  • Personal storytelling

  • Or another creative offering

No performance polish required. No pressure to be profound.
This is about expression, not perfection.

Community Agreements & Content Care

We are gathering to celebrate trans visibility, creativity, and community. We know that our stories can hold joy, grief, anger, tenderness, and everything in between.

Because this is an open mic-style event, we want to name an important boundary:

We ask that shared pieces do not include explicit discussion of self-harm or suicide.

Trans communities are disproportionately impacted by these realities, and we want to ensure this space remains accessible and supportive for everyone in the room. You are welcome to explore themes of resilience, struggle, and survival. We simply ask that graphic or detailed references to self-harm or suicide be left out of this particular gathering.

Additional agreements to help us care for one another:

  • Trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive voices are centered. Only trans folks may share during the open mic.

  • Allies are warmly welcome to attend as witnesses and supporters.

  • We practice consent in conversation, photography, and physical space. Please ask before taking photos or sharing someone’s image or work.

  • We avoid cross-talk, unsolicited advice, or critique. This is a space for expression, not debate.

  • We honor confidentiality. What is shared here stays here unless explicit permission is given.

If at any point you need a breather, stepping outside or connecting with a facilitator is always welcome.

This night is about being visible in ways that feel life-giving. Thank you for helping us create a space that holds creativity, dignity, and care for everyone present. 🏳️‍⚧️
