Rachel, Intern
Hi, I'm Rachel (she/her/they)!
I am a counseling intern currently completing my second Master’s degree in Licensed Mental Health Counseling following a Master’s in Human Services Marriage & Family Counseling. My work is deeply informed by lived experience, cultural humility, and a belief in the resilience of the human spirit. The process of becoming can be difficult, scary and frustrating as we grow and change, and it's not a linear journey.
I work to create a safe space where clients can show up unmasked and fully themselves - where differences are not just accepted, but celebrated! My approach to therapy is whole-hearted and strengths-focused, and grounded in authenticity, grace and compassion towards ourselves and others. I believe that vulnerability, curiosity, and appropriate humor can be powerful tools for healing, helping clients to reconnect with their inner strengths and move toward lives that feel more honest, spacious, and self-directed. It is my honor to journey alongside people of all walks of life in their process of becoming!
I am the proud and enthusiastic neurodivergent Queen Mama of a small tribe of grown neurodivergent and queer kids (both biological and bonus!). I am also a rescue dog mom of two adorable and spoiled puppers, as well as the butler to assorted entitled cats. I was born in South Korea and have lived all over the US before settling in Vancouver, WA. I enjoy being in the wild but not crowded spaces, and as an extraverted introvert I crave lots of quiet time at home to destim and recharge in my sensory-friendly space. I love to laugh loudly, read fantasy and science fiction, talk at TV characters and attempt crafts of all kinds with little success.
