Wild Heart Book Club

A queer-, trans-, and ally-affirming book club for thoughtful connection and community.

Wild Heart Book Club is a gathering space for queer, trans, and allied adults (18+) who want to read together, think together, and build community through shared stories and ideas. Co-hosted with Queer Community Network, this book club centers trans voices and lived experience while remaining welcoming to curious, respectful allies.

This is a low-pressure, discussion-based book club, not a class and not a debate. Come whether you’ve read every page, skimmed a few chapters, or are still working your way through the book. The goal is connection, reflection, and collective learning.

Some meetings will be in person and others will be online. Each gathering has its own event page with more details.

Is This for Me?

Wild Heart Book Club might be a good fit if you’re:

  • A queer, trans, or allied adult (18+) looking for community

  • Interested in trans-centered books, ideas, and conversation

  • Someone who enjoys discussion but doesn’t want an academic or debate-heavy space

  • Comfortable listening, reflecting, and engaging with care even when perspectives differ

  • Looking for a low-pressure way to connect (it’s okay to just listen!)

This book club may not be the right fit if you’re:

  • Looking for a formal class, lecture, or rigorous literary analysis

  • Interested primarily in debate or playing “devil’s advocate”

  • Unwilling to respect trans and queer lived experiences

No prior expertise is required. Curiosity, respect, and care are enough.
