Esmeralda, MSW, LICSWA, SUDP
Hola! My name is Esmeralda and I use She/Her pronouns. I am a cooccurring therapist, meaning I am a mental health therapist who also specializes in addictions. My approach to therapy is one of client centeredness, considering my patients the drivers of their goals and needs from the therapeutic relationship. My perspective on mental health and therapy comes from Liberation Psychology, an orientation that seeks to consider the intersections, culture, principles, and personal understanding of the person, and use it to facilitate the direction and purpose of therapy.
My style is warm, empathetic, and curious. I love to assist the people I work with in engaging with their communities, families, chosen families, and passions to build on themselves. I have much experience working with youth ages 13 on through transitional youth of 25 years old, as well as with adults of all ages. I have extensive experience helping my clients work through the justice system, school districts, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), as an advocate and therapeutic advisor. Overall, my personal want as a therapist is to be a person who is there and can serve as a medium in which to reflect, explore, and heal.
